It’s a difficult adjustment for survivors of traumatic brain injuries and their families, especially when the term encompasses everything from a concussion to much more debilitating conditions.
Saint Johner Cecile Proctor launched the local chapter of the Brain Association of Canada she tells us it’s hard for people to know where to turn.
She says their goal so far in New Brunswick is to create a network among these people so they can connect to services that are available and to one another.
Proctor, a UNB Saint John student, was awarded the “Volunteer of the Year Award” Thursday at a national conference for her work on social networks and art therapy.
