NB Student Alliance Looking Forward To Working With Liberals

The New Brunswick Student Alliance planning on working with the incoming Liberal Government to ensure they keep their promises on making post-secondary education in the province more accessible and affordable.

Executive Director Pat Joyce tells us the Liberals made a number of commitments that students appreciated including taking a more strategic approach to addressing youth mental health needs which he says is a major issue on campuses.

He also points to their promised reforms to financial aid, including commitments to eliminate parental and spousal contributions from the assesment of assets in student loans.

The alliance saying they will be reaching out to premier-designate Brian Gallant and whoever he will name as the Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour in the coming weeks.

The NBSA is the largest student association in the province representing over 13,000 students.
