Progressive Conservative Leader David Alward is reacting to a political action campaign against abortion targeting his main rival.
A pro-life group distributed pamphlets earlier this week in Fredericton featuring a picture of Liberal Party leader Brian Gallant alongside graphic abortion images.
Alward says he hasn’t seen the flyers and he doesn’t support or promote what’s going on.
However, that doesn’t mean he would change the law requiring a woman wanting an abortion to have permission from two doctors that deem it to be medically necessary.
Alward says, “We have a clear position and we’re not changing that position.”
The N-D-P and Green Party have said they would repeal the two-doctor regulation while the People’s Alliance is in favour of the status quo.
