CMHA Hosts Forum for World Suicide Prevention Day

Statistics say, we lose someone to suicide once every 40 seconds.

It’s World Suicide Prevention Day, and the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick wants to raise awareness.

Program Coordinator for the Moncton branch Kristen Barnes says everyone, is affected by suicide, in some way or another.

“Suicide doesn’t have any discrimination based on age, gender, religion, socio-economic status. It affects virtually everybody, and it doesn’t matter if you are young or if you are old.”

The Westmorland-Albert County Regional Suicide Prevention Committee is hosting a forum tonight with guest speakers who will talk about suicide.

It is being held at 81 Albert Street in Moncton from 6:30pm to 8pm.
