Man who threatened to kill police to be sentenced

MONCTON, N.B. – A Moncton man who admitted to threatening to kill police will be sentenced today.

25-year-old Jasper John Stam has pleaded guilty to uttering threats about police in May of this year.

The offence carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

It’s not known exactly what the nature of the threats were.

Stam is not in custody, but has been under house arrest while he awaits sentencing.

He’s also been ordered to have no contact with Justin Bourque the man who admitted to gunning down three Codiac RCMP officers in June.

Police say the incidents are not connected.
