Alward Goes On The Offensive

DIEPPE, N.B. – Premier David Alward continues to insist the Tories are the only party with a clear plan to bring New Brunswickers home from resource jobs elsewhere in Canada.

During a campaign stop at the Greater Moncton International Airport this morning, Alward touted his vision of job creation through shale gas and natural resource development.

He also painted Liberal leader Brian Gallant as ‘irresponsible’ for his plan to put a moratorium on shale gas exploration.

“How can he say that he’s pro LNG project when he’s against the very source of fuel that the LNG project will export?”

Gallant says shale gas represents a small number of jobs compared to the other projects he supports.

Alward made the comments in the riding of Shediac Bay-Dieppe where Gallant is running against Dolores Poirier of the PC’s.

The attack also comes a day after a new Corporate Research Associates poll showed the Liberals ahead by a wide margin.
