NDP Leader Says He Would Ban Use Of Replacement Workers

Provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy proposing on Labour Day first contract legislation.

This would obligate business owners to negotiate with newly formed unions as well as banning the use of replacement workers during strikes and lockouts.

He also warns how easy it is to get caught up in the flurry of election time promises from candidates of all political stripes at this time of year but at the end of the day, you have to look at just how much those promises cost.

Cardy claims Provincial Liberal leader Brian Gallant’s promise to spend 900 million dollars could be devastating, amounting to 2 thousand 500 hundred dollars out of the pocket of every working New Brunswicker or nearly 12 hundred dollars from every man, woman and child in the province.
