The U de M Student Federation has issued a list of priorities it would like to see the province’s political parties address if elected next month.
The six recommendations include reforming the student financial aid system, establishing a form of financial compensation for interns working in the provincial public service and eliminating the parental contribution in student loan calculations.
Federation president Moncef Lakouas says he hopes candidates realize the importance of investing in post-secondary education, “It’s the only tool we can use to win on a long term basis.”
N-D-P leader Dominic Cardy, Roger Melanson and Victor Boudreau of the Liberals and Marie-Claude Blais of the Progressive Conservatives were all in attendance for the Federation’s announcement in Moncton today.
