Mounties crack down on marijuana grow ops

RCMP are looking for help in cracking down on marijuana grow operations in the province.

Police say the grow ops are very active at this time of year.

Sergeant Paul Ouelette with Shediac RCMP says the plants are usually grown in clumps in large areas and other vegetation is used to camouflage the plants.

You are advised not to approach the plants because there have been cases where traps are placed around the site.

Instead, call RCMP to report it.

Earlier this week near Moncton, RCMP dismantled a marijuana grow op in Malakoff where 35 large plants were seized.

RCMP say once mature, the plants could have produced over 17,000 joints
