Fire leaves family temporarily homeless

BOUTOUCHE BAY, NB–A family of five managed to escape unharmed after a fire extensively damaged their Bouctouche Bay home.

The fire broke out in the two storey home on Route 475 yesterday afternoon.

Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross were able to respond, and a man and woman, their adult son, daughter in law and 16 year old grandson are temporarily staying with friends. They were also provided with emergency aid including purchases of clothing and food.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
