Ross J. Chappell, 89 of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday October 21, 2026. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late John and Norriss (Cormier) MacArthur and his adopted parents, Joseph and Clara (Chapman) Chapell.

Ross moved to Moncton in 1990 and worked at Centennial Irving and the House of Lam. He was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus Sunny Brae Council #1310 and was a long-time volunteer at the Ray of Hope Needy Kitchen at St. Augustine’s.

Ross will be sadly missed by his sisters, Debbie Rogerson and Ruth (Jerry) Tannous; brother, Doug (Cathy) MacArthur; many nieces, nephews and extended family members; special and dear friends, Judy Mann, Eric LeBlanc, Shawn Tobin and Greg (Patricia) Fennell. In addition to his parents, Ross was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters; sister-in-law, Jeanette Chappell; brother-in-law, Bruce Rogerson.

Relatives and friends are invited to Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) for visitation hours on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Ross’s life will be held from St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion St. Moncton on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 10:00 am. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Interment to be held in Lorneville Cemetery, Amherst, NS.
