1949 – 2026
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Reid Wilson of Riverview on September 24, 2026, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Leonard and Isobel (nee McDavid) Wilson.
Reid was a family man, building a family with Susan over the years was a point of pride for him. Seeing his children and then his grandchildren grow up was such a highlight in his life. Reid would do anything to support his family and he was their biggest fan.
Reid retired from a long sales career with Irving, to which he was exceptionally loyal. He was the type of social and friendly person they needed. Reid would go out of his way to make sure the customer was happy. He was also highly involved in the Kinsmen Club, serving his community wherever he went. This passion for volunteerism and comradery was something Reid felt strongly about.
In his free time, Reid was an avid salmon fisherman, and he enjoyed playing golf and spending his time with friends and family; he was the social man of the hour and would always go out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. He was a true Miramichier at heart. Reid had such fond memories of his time boating on the Restigouche River.
His passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs was unwavering (This is the year), through thick and thin he was there. On the off season the Toronto Blue Jays would get his attention. He would never miss a game. Reid was a sports guy: if there were no sports on then there were no sports to watch that day.
He is held in the loving memory of his beloved wife Susan (nee Champion), daughter Krista Wilson, son Jeff Wilson, sisters Sheila (Gerry) and Judy, brothers Ricky (Eileen), Allie, Mike, Rodney (Cindy), and Bill (Jodi), and his dear grandchildren Jonny, Ty, and Jake. He will also be missed by Susan’s family, Alan Champion (Janette), Carl Champion (Karen) along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brother David and brother-in-law Peter.
A private family service will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (506-869-2007), with a burial at Alderwood Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate in memoriam donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
