February 10, 1950 – August 12, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Debby (Deborah) Susan Stuart on Wednesday August 12, 2026 within the comforts of her home. She was born in Moncton on February 10, 1950, the daughter of the late Gordon and Marjorie (Wilson) Stuart.
She was a graduate of Moncton High School and NBCC. Debby began her working career with Eaton’s Catalogue, when Eaton’s closed, she began a 30-year career with Transport Canada. She retired from Airports Group in 2005; she loved her job and even more her co-workers. Debby was a lifetime resident of Moncton, but moved to Pointe-du-Chêne and the family cottage became her new home prior to retirement. Later in life Shediac became home. She was an active member of Shediac Bay Community Church, member of the Kathleen Soucy ABW, a life member of UBWMS, the National Association of Federal Retirees and CN Pensioners Association.
Debby’s passion was travel and she travelled all over the world. She loved working in her gardens, crocheting and loved her drives in her convertible, Miss Martha. She loved music, but the radio was always on the Elvis Channel. She had a great love for her volunteer work and all the charities she worked with through ABW. Debby knit constantly and donated over 200 hats per year to homeless and crisis centres. In addition to a great love of her family, she loved coffee breaks at McDonald’s with the church gals, loved supper gatherings with her Moncton Golden Girls and enjoyed many lunch dates with the Transport Canada girls.
Debby is survived by her niece, Angela Duncan of Riverview and her children, Chloe, Hailey and Jessica; nephews, Craig Duncan (late Naomi) of Havelock and Chris Duncan (Tracey) Moncton and his children Thomas and Daylin. She will be missed by her best friend Gerald Ross and his children Dawn Megarity, Robert Ross (Stephanie) and their families; she was Mom #2 to her much-loved step-daughter, Colleen Fraser Purdy (Colin); also, the Purdy Family, Jonathan, Audrey, Dee (Todd), Kris, Kara and PJ. She is survived by her god daughters, Lynsday Wareham Anhorn (Nick) and their children Juliet, Braven and Aviva; Jenna Wareham (Brad) and their children, Jade, Ruby and Douglas. She is survived by a special sister-in-law, Judy Wareham (Ken).
Debby was predeceased by her dad, Gordon “Gordie” Stuart (1988); mother, Marjorie Stuart (2015); her life partner Craig B. Purdy (2008) and her much loved and only sister, Brenda Duncan (2024).
