RCMP and the Willow Centre have partnered to open a dedicated forensic interview space for victims of crime in Charlotte County.
The trauma-informed room, which will become available for RCMP use in August of 2026, is designed to provide a safe and supportive setting for sensitive interviews.
Officers say the space will help victims remain connected to local support services while investigations are underway, reducing the need to travel elsewhere for interviews.
Community support also played a role in the initiative. RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency members organized a charity hockey game that raised $7,000 for the Willow Centre, helping support its work in the region.
