Thelma Perry

1946 – 2026

Thelma Marie Perry, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on February 2, 2026, just 12 days before her 80th birthday, at the age of 79.  Born in Hillsborough on February 14th, 1946.  She is the youngest daughter of Earl Eldridge Goddard and Mazie Frances (Corey) Goddard.

She is survived by her beloved #1 daughter, Dawne Marie, her son-in-law, Roger Robichaud, her cherished grandchildren Ryhan Wayne and Amber Marie, her step grandchildren, Ryan and Kirklin Robichaud.  She is also survived by her brother, Corey (Pat) Goddard, her cherished niece who was like a sister to her, Sharon (Late Brian) Emery, and her nephew Brian (Kim) Steeves.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law Mike (Kathy) Perry of Moncton, her sisters in law Susan (Stephen) Fasano of Belize, and Linda (Late Ron Noble) of Harriston, Ontario.  She also leaves behind her dear friends, Farrell and Wendy Lewis, whom she loved immensely and considered family to her.  Also, she will be deeply missed by her high school best friend, Donna Hudson, her genealogy partner and cousin, Sherrill Carter and her very good friend and cousin, Barb Rawline.

Thelma lived an amazing and full life.  She worked at Eaton’s before marrying the love of her life.  She spent the early years of her marriage being the most amazing home maker.  Once the kids grew up, she returned to work, at Armour Transport in the Driver Payroll division until it was deemed time to retire.  She was also a member of Toastmasters and Tops for many years.

Her passion was genealogy.  She served as Treasurer of the New Brunswick Genealogy Society, the provincial body as Treasurer from 1991-1994. Locally, at the Southeastern Branch, she served as President in 2007, 2008, 2015 and 2016.  And then continued as Treasurer after that.  She currently serves as Librarian, Director as well as bereavement chair.  She also enjoyed spending time doing her diamond art projects and would spend her days doing this or genealogy or baking goodies and surprises for her loved ones.

All the while she has been a constant source of strength and support to her daughter, Dawne’s first and forever best friend.  She was always full of love, advice, and knowledge and always knew when to be there for her family.  She was so very proud of her family.

Besides her parents and sister Audrey (late Raymond) Steeves, she was predeceased by her son, Kent Alan on May 21, 2003 and her great love, Wayne Alan on March 14, 2025.

It was Thelma’s request not to have a funeral service, however, we will celebrate her amazing life on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 6pm-8pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (506-869-2007).

We will reunite her with her beloved husband at a burial to take place at a later date.  If so desired, in lieu of flowers. donations in her memory can be made to the New Brunswick Genealogy Society, Southeastern Branch,  or charity of donors choice.

A very heartfelt thank you to Farrell and Wendy Lewis for always being there for Thelma in the most loving and generous ways. There are no words to express our gratitude for all that you have done for both Mom and Dad throughout the years.

The family would also like to express a special thank you to all the staff at the Moncton Hospital for taking care of Thelma in her final days
