N.B. firefighters battling Quebec wildfires

Firefighters from other parts of the country are lending a hand in Quebec.

As of Monday morning, Quebec’s provincial wildfire management agency (SOPFEU) was reporting 188 wildfires.

In an email, a New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources spokesperson told our newsroom that 22 firefighters arrived in the Baie-Comeau area over the weekend.

They’ll be assisting in Quebec for the next two weeks.
