Barbara Anne Bacongallo, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully in her residence at The Briarlea on Ryan on Thursday, June 4th, 2026. Born in Moncton on January 18th, 1941, she was the daughter of Willard and Mildred (Hope) Broad. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Ben Bacongallo, her sister Marlene Price and her brother-in-law, Nelson Price.
Barbara retired from the City of Moncton after 29 years of service, including 14 years as a secretary with the Moncton Police Force. She attended St. John’s United Church and enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo, travelling, watching hockey (especially the Toronto Maple Leafs). Her favourite player was Sidney Crosby (her “adopted“ grandson). Along with her husband Ben, she enjoyed many summers of boating and gardening in Shediac and several winters in Florida.
Barbara will be sadly missed by daughters Chona (Doug) Coleman of Montreal and Goldy Bacongallo (Raymond Kaps) of Moncton; precious grandchildren Ashley Coleman, Jonathan (Roxanne) Coleman, Andrew Kaps and Nicholas Kaps; great grandchildren Noah, Sadie and Hudson; sister Margaret Rogers (Aubrey) Sydney, NS, brother Lloyd (Marthe), Moncton; sister-in-law Pat Gardner, Moncton, and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Briarlea for their compassionate care and their exceptional kindness and support.

Her family will be receiving relatives and friends at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, (506-858-1995), on Monday, June 8th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 am by The Rev. Aaron Billard. A reception to follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. A private family interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton.
