UPDATE: N.S. man struck and killed on Hwy 2 in N.B.

A 54-year-old Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia man is dead after he was struck on Highway 2 in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Codiac RCMP received reports at around 2:50 a.m. on Friday of a man lying on the roadside by the eastbound lanes, between Gorge and Mapleton Roads.

Police believe he was hit by a transport truck.

Before the incident, the man was seen walking on the side of the highway in the area where he was hit.

At this time, nothing criminal is suspected.

Police are asking anyone with information to get in touch with them. If you were in the area between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on May 29 and have dashcam footage or information that could assist, contact the RCMP at 506-857-2400.
