Henry E. LeBlanc, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at Faubourg du Mascaret, Pavillon Richard on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the age of 97 and a half.
Born in Moncton, October 18, 1928, at home on Queen Street east, he was the son of the late Ernest and Vitaline (Vautour) LeBlanc. Henry was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and protector- accepting of all.
Henry left his formal education at Irishtown School, at the early age of 14 to work on the Pig, cattle and geese farm with his dad. He picked up jobs, keeping the Irishtown School warm by ensuring the wood stove was full of wood, wood cutter, ditch cleaner, fire fighter during the 1946 fire. Dad’s entrepreneur spirit shinned bright when he opened a canteen/corner store/ gas bar near the Communication Road in Irishtown during his late teens.
Henry met and married the love of his life Kay in 1949 had their first boy in 1950 and their second in 1961. Dad started a 38-year career in 1951 at CFB Moncton (number 5) as a civilian temporary forklift operator. Dad became a full-time truck driver, winning several Rodeos, then in the 1970’s became a supervisor of a productive ground maintenance team, finishing his work career in 1989.
Dad had a second job with his own small trucking and snow removal business in the 1970s, 80s and 90s and beyond retirement.
Henry spent many years building his home on Edmond Street and his getaway cottages in Caissie Cape. Known as the “Mayor” of Caissie Cape in the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s he helped support his friends and neighbours as much as he could. Trading trade secrets and learning lots from others.
In the 1970’s Henry and Kay got the ballroom dancing bug which continued into their late 70’s.
Henry was a member of the Golden Age Clubs of Dieppe and Notre-Dame- de- la- Paix. and spent many years as a volunteer at St. Michael’s Parish. Dad loved to travel late in life with Mom, visiting their boys and helping with repairs on apartments and homes in Halifax, Moncton, Montreal and Vancouver.
Henry will be sadly missed by his sons, Paul LeBlanc and Gregory LeBlanc (Roger): His Brother Gerald and Sisters; Rita, Yvonne and Jeannise; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Raymond and sisters, Viola, Florence and Doris, and friend Aline LeBlanc.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 930am until the funeral from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Andre Richard officiating. Reception will follow the Liturgy. Interment will be held at la Visitation Parish Cemetery, Grande-Digue, NB.
