RCMP say drivers fined, vehicles towed after incident in Caledonia Industrial Park

It was a busy weekend for car enthusiasts in the city who attended Radical Speed Sport at the Moncton Coliseum.

RCMP Superintendent Benoit Jolette told Moncton City Council they were forced to intervene on Saturday, after a noisy gathering of between 100 and 200 vehicles and their owners in the Caledonia Industrial Park.

Around 13 officers responded after a crash.

Four vehicles had to be towed away, and several drivers were fined.

“Things went rather smoothly once we got there, but unfortunately, it’s the kind of thing that happens when there are those shows, and it happens in the summer as well,” Jolette explained.

In a social media post on Monday, the RCMP stated that they are cracking down on vehicle modifications and letting drivers know what’s allowed and what’s not.

That includes window tinting, suspension changes and wheels and tires.
