Ducks Aren’t Real… But This Place  Absolutely Is

Just 20 minutes from Moncton, tucked away in Sackville, is one of those spots you almost don’t want to tell people about… because once the secret’s out, it’s game over.

But here we are.

Ducks Aren’t Real is the definition of a hidden gem. The kind of place foodies dream about finding—creative menu, unreal flavours, and an experience that feels a little different from your typical night out.

Let’s start with the food… because wow. Everything coming out of that kitchen is next level. Thoughtfully crafted, packed with flavour, and clearly made by people who care about what they’re serving. This isn’t just a meal—it’s one of those “okay, I need to come back and try everything” situations.

Now, if you can time your visit in the summer… do it.

Their garden out back? Unreal.

It’s beautiful, relaxed, and honestly just adds to the whole vibe. Great food hits different when you’re sitting outside, surrounded by greenery, soaking it all in. It turns dinner into an experience.

And here’s a little behind-the-scenes story…

Last summer when I featured Ducks Aren’t Real, things got… busy. Like really busy. The restaurant was swamped for 2–3 weeks straight after the post (which is amazing to see people supporting local like that 🙌).

The funniest part?

After chatting with the owners, they told me the ramen dish I featured is one of the hardest things on their menu to make… and that’s the one everyone kept ordering. Over and over. We had a good laugh about that—sorry guys 😅

But honestly, it says everything you need to know. When a dish that complex is flying out of the kitchen non-stop, you know it’s something special.

So here’s your sign:

Make the short drive to Sackville.

Plan a date night.

Hit it up with friends.

Go for lunch, go for dinner—just go.

Whether it’s this spring or you wait for that perfect summer garden night, Ducks Aren’t Real is 100% worth the trip. Incredible food, amazing atmosphere, and one of those places you’ll be talking about long after you leave.

Just don’t blame me if you can’t get a table 😉
