Inmate assaulted at Atlantic Institution

Police are investigating an assault at a federal prison in New Brunswick.

Correctional Service Canada says the incident happened April 13 at the Atlantic Institution in Renous.

A statement from CSC says the injured inmate was evaluated by staff and taken to hospital for treatment.

The attackers have been identified and measures have been taken.

Blackville RCMP and prison staff are investigating the assault.
