UPDATE: Highway 1 eastbound lane reopens after truck crash

Traffic is flowing again eastbound on Highway 1 between Quispamsis and Hampton.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization says one eastbound lane reopened on Wednesday night.

Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution as crews continue their cleanup after a large fuel spill last week.

A tanker truck rolled over, closing the highway in both directions for several days.

An estimated 36,000 litres of fuel spilled near kilometre marker 153, outside Hampton.

The highway in both directions was closed for several days after the crash on April 8.

The westbound lanes reopened on Friday.

Natural Resources Minister and Hampton-area MLA John Herron visited the site on Monday.
