1933 ~ 2026
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Connie on April 7, 2026, in Moncton, NB, at the age of 92. She lived a long and fulfilling life and was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Réal Bourque; their children Tony Bourque (Delcia), Paul Bourque (Carolyn), and Tracy Dixon (Chris); and her six cherished grandchildren, Tania, Corey, Kaitlin, Kelly, Matthew, and Bronwyn. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Rex, and Emma, as well as many nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, Clara and William Mahoney, and her eleven siblings: Monica, Michael, William, Benedict, Carmel, Ralph, Catherine, Bernice, Donald, Aloysius (“Wishy”), and her beloved twin brother, Clarence (“Bud”), with whom she shared a lifelong bond. Having lost her parents at a young age, she was fortunate to share a close and caring relationship with her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Claire and Antoine Bourque.
Born on December 21, 1933, in Douglastown, NB, Connie was a kind and resilient woman with an exceptional memory and a deep sense of family. From a young age, she showed a protective and determined nature, always guided by compassion and a willingness to stand up for those she loved. She experienced the loss of her parents at a young age and later shared a close and caring relationship with her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Claire and Antoine Bourque. After working as a telephone operator in her early years, she devoted her life to her family, consistently placing the needs of others before her own and played a central role in shaping our family. A devoted Catholic, she carried her faith throughout her life. In her later years, she found joy in simple pleasures, especially doing jigsaw puzzles and tending to her garden. She had a remarkable gift for remembering and sharing life’s details, helping preserve family history and keeping loved ones close through her stories.
Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901, on Friday, April 17th, from 1 to 2 pm only, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm. There will be a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ProTem Memory Care, where Connie was cared for with exceptional compassion, dignity, and kindness. It was a place where she felt safe, content, and at peace-something our family will always be grateful for.
Connie will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her kindness, and the quiet strength that defined her life. The memories she shared so vividly will stay with us always.
