January 26, 1949  –  February 28, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Ulysse Richard, 77, of Moncton, on Saturday February 28, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Pierre and Marie-Leonie (Melendee) (Cormier) Richard.

He is survived by his wife Janet (nee Mullin), his son Steven and daughter Jenny Also survived by his sisters Cecile Meunier (late Mickey), Edna (Herman) Barriault, Theresa, Marie-Anne Williams (late Tom). Brothers Clarence (Maria), Joe (Alice), Emile (Anna) and Ronald (Joan). And many nieces, nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Gerard and sister Dorice.

Leonard spent his working years doing a job he loved as a skilled carpenter. He also loved fishing, hunting and listening to old country music especially George Jones.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all of the nurses and doctors that were involved in his care, especially Extra Mural.

Leonard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Respecting Leonard’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995).
