E. “Todd” Marsh

July 29, 1969  –  February 21, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Edward “Todd” Marsh announce his passing on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 56, at The Moncton Hospital in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Born on July 29, 1969, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Todd was the beloved son of the late Frank and Rose (Doucet) Marsh. He carried with him throughout his life the strong Cape Breton roots and work ethic instilled in him from an early age.

Todd is survived by his cherished daughter, Claire and his former wife, Verna Yorke, mother of Claire, his brothers, Kerry (Alison) and Darren (Carolyn); his nephews, Aidan Marsh and Stephen Ferguson; his grandniece, Sawyer Ferguson; as well as many cousins and extended family members.

Todd was naturally drawn to the hospitality industry, where his outgoing personality and easy smile made him right at home. He began his early career tending bar at Smooth Herman’s in Sydney, a place where he formed many lasting friendships. After graduating from University College of Cape Breton, he relocated to New Brunswick, where his entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate several successful Subway franchises. Through hard work and dedication, he built not only businesses but meaningful relationships within the community.

Outside of work, Todd enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time on the course, enjoying time shared with friends on the course. He also had a true passion for cars. Todd admired their design and performance, appreciated the craftsmanship behind them, and took great pride in owning high performance vehicles. Todd also enjoyed good food — especially anything with a bit of heat — and never turned down the chance to try something spicy. He had a special fondness for dogs, especially his Golden Retrievers Nigel, Logan, Rio and Mason.

A celebration of life will be held in Sydney, Nova Scotia, later in the spring, with final interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Sydney Forks, Nova Scotia.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd Moncton, NB (506-858-1995). Online condolences for the family can be shared at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com.
