Edouard Collette

1952-2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edouard Collette a devoted husband, cherished father, Grandfather and proud cattle farmer, who passed away surrounded by his family on February 11th, 2026.

Born in Sainte-Marie, he was the son of the late Neri Collette and the late Aldéa Collette.

Edouard’s life was rooted in the pastures he tended and the faith that guided him. A man of deep spiritual conviction, he moved through the world with a gentle nature and quiet strength that earned the respect of all who knew him. He asked for little and gave everything.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gisèle Collette, who stood beside him through every season; his three adoring sons : Julien Collette (Sherry), Daniel Collette (Rebecca) and Mathieu Collette all of Sainte-Marie, who were the pride of his heart; his brother, Guy Collette (Gisèle) of Shediac; his sisters: Gisèle Richard (Gérard) of Dieppe, Denise Collette (Jean) of Cocagne and Phyllis Collette (Donald) of Moncton; as well as his four beloved  grandchildren: Jacob, Noah, Kaleb and Sofia, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Edouard’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled: the dignity of hard work, the importance of family, stewardship of the land, and a life lived with humility and grace. Though he has taken his final rest, the fences he mended, the barns he maintained, and the cattle he cared for remain as testaments to a life well-lived. His memory will endure as steadfastly as the farm he so faithfully tended.

In lieu of flowers, Edouard would have preferred you take a walk through a field or simply enjoy the outdoors he loved. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Parkinson Canada are welcomed.

“The sun is setting, the cattle are all bedded, and here now is the end of your day.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel RC Church Slumber Room in Ste-Marie-de-Kent between the hours of 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 6:45pm. A funeral service will take place in the church at 7:00pm.
