Gail Ricker Donaher May 5, 1951 – February 11, 2026
Today we say “see you later” to this much-loved lady known as Gail, Ricky, Nanny, Nanny Gail, Gailius, and probably a few other monikers not polite to mention. To us she was Mom.
Mom was born on May 5th, 1951. At 74 3/4 she was too young to leave us, as were those who predeceased her: her mother, Theresa Tingley (Dec 29, 1917- Aug 28, 1992, 74 years), her father, Earle Ricker (May 18, 1919- May 14, 1989, 69 years), and her brother Alfred ‘Skip’ Ricker (Feb 28, 1948 – Aug 11, 1996, 48 years).
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Barry; her siblings: Gaius (Janice), Marilyn (Bert), Karen (Lorne), sister-in-law Gayle, her children: Olivia (Ian), Daniel (Natalie), Garrett (Evonne), and Megan (Brodie), her grandchildren: Kate, Crowley, Hallie, Henry, Tau, Kei, Devlin, Lily, Clyde, and Ivan, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Mom was a very busy lady in her lifetime—looking after the home, yard, and 4 kids, and out in the world at large. Everything she did, she did to the fullest, with love and a desire to help the people close to her and in the community. From her very first job, through various volunteer commitments with the schools, church, and myriad other roles inside and outside our home, she wore many, many, many job hats, and always wore them well.
“If there ever comes a day when we cannot be together, Just hold me in your heart and I shall stay there forever.” —Winnie the Pooh.
In lieu of a service, a celebration of life will be held in her home on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton, NB (506-858-1995).
Donations in her name can be made to the Lung Foundation Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences for the family can be shared at
