1938 ~ 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhéal Richard, 87, on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, at the Villa du Repos in Moncton.

Born in Saint-Norbert on November 29th, 1938, he was the son of the late Aldéric Richard and the late Imelda Richard.

Rhéal will be sadly missed by his six sisters: Dorilla Melanson (late Eloi) of Saint-Antoine, Anna (Armand) Boudreau of Moncton, Geneva (François) Babineau of Richibucto-Village, Rosemonde (Gerald) Caissie of Moncton, Anne Marie (David Huntington) of Memramcook, and Norma of Caraquet; his sister-in-law, Florida of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant sister, Fernande; and his brother, Normand, in 2025.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Villa du Repos for the services and care they provided, as well as Birchmount Lodge where he resided for over 20 years.

Visitations will be held at Passage ~ Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe) on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, from 9:00am until 10:15am. A funeral service will take place at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church (87 Murphy Ave, Moncton) at 11:00am. Interment will take place in the spring in Saint-Norbert.

Donations in memory of Rhéal can be made to the Saint-Norbert Cemetery, to CHU Dumont or a charity of your choice.
