Woman arrested after assault in Elsipogtog: police

RCMP say a woman has been charged following an alleged assault in Elsipogtog.

Officers responded to a home on Oak Street around 6:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.

According to police, two men were reportedly assaulted by a woman following an altercation.

A 59-year-old suffered what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries while a 24-year-old was not hurt.

Mounties arrested a 26-year-old woman from Elsipogtog at the scene without incident.

She is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breaching probation.

The woman has been released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court in mid-January.
