Youth sprayed with bear mace in Sussex: RCMP

Three youths have been arrested after police say another youth was sprayed with bear mace in Sussex.

Mounties responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on Pleasant Street around 1:40 p.m. Monday.

“When members arrived on scene, they determined that one youth was suffering from minor injuries after being sprayed with bear mace,” police said in a news release on Thursday.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics, according to police.

Officers located and arrested three youths at a nearby residence.

They were later released on conditions and a court date in September.
