Kennebecasis Valley High wins provincial Reach for the Top title

Kennebecasis Valley High School (KVHS) will once again try to regain the Reach for the Top national title.

The senior team nabbed the provincial title on Saturday with a 340-140 win over Bernice MacNaughton High School from Moncton.

Coach Jason Thorne said it is the school’s 10th consecutive provincial title, and 17th title in the last 18 seasons.

KVHS will represent New Brunswick at the national championships in June, which will be played online again this year.

The school won the national title in 2010, 2011 and 2016, and has finished in the top five on 13 occasions.

Meanwhile, Fredericton High School took home gold in the intermediate division at this weekend’s provincials.

Rothesay Netherwood School won the provincial title in the Grade 9 to 10 division, while KV High took home silver.
