Sarah Murphy is constantly involved around the Riverview community and now she hopes to do so at the next level.
Murphy announced her candidacy as Councilor for Ward 1 in the upcoming municipal election.
Murphy, a substitute teacher, has been a part of the Riverview Public Library Board for the last 14 years and a chairperson of the Parent & School Support Committee at Riverview East School for the last 8 years.
Her involvement in the community has brought her more opportunities as she has volunteered with the Friends of Mill Creek Committee, Riverview Neighbourhood Watch, and Riverview Art Show committee.
Murphy intends to prioritize establishing a safe community, encouraging active lifestyles, creating environmental sustainability and supporting new business growth.
She had previously announced her intent to run before the pandemic caused the elections to be postponed.
