Moncton mayor Dawn Arnold says it’s unacceptable the province is paying for one-way bus tickets to the Hub City if someone finds themselves homeless elsewhere in New Brunswick.
On Facebook this week, Arnold posted that while Monctonians are generous, housing is a provincial responsibility and urgency is needed for a provincial approach.
While we have space in our shelters, Arnold says they are a last resort.
The mayor adds the city not only needs affordable housing but proper mental health and addictions supports to go along with it.
