Benefit Concert For Claude Melanson

A number of local musicians are teaming up to support one of their own.

Claude Melanson is a well-known local musician and a driving force behind The Christmas Daddies.

He was recently diagnosed with two rare diseases, Pericarditis which causes inflammation around the heart and Wegener Disease, rare blood disease.

Izabelle, Ivan Daigle, Charlie Brown Band and Scott & Gerald are just some of the many acts coming together for the cause.

His cousin Bernie Melanson helped organize the concert after the diagnosis.

“And I must have turned a way at least 20 acts that said ‘hey we can come down and play’ but there’s only so much time. The musicians just jumped in without much persuasion, no persuasion really,” he says.

Funds raised from the concert will help cover the cost of bills and living expenses, since Claude will be off work for some time.

They’ll be performing at the Moncton Lions Club of on Sunday from 4pm to midnight.

If you are interested in donating but are unable to attend the show, you can contribute through the GoFundMe page.
