Visioning Workshop Planned For Future Of St. Pat’s

A visioning workshop is planned to look at the future of St. Pat’s Family Centre.

It suddenly closed in July last year due to financial issues and disrepair.

Former members voted in October last year to sell the building to Heritage Resources.

But current Board member Leslie Tse (say) says the sale didn’t go through.

“In the end, there were things that arose and the deal never went through. Currently, the centre is still owned by St. Pat’s Family Centre Incorporated and that is why we able to pursue these avenues.”

They are asking the public to consider what role St. Pat’s can play in our community.

“It’s kind of like we are starting from square one again in a sense. We are looking to see what we can contribute to the community and how the community can help us to keep it going in the future,” Tse says.

You can share your ideas at the meeting tonight from 7pm to 9pm at St. Bernard’s Church on Botsford Street.

“We hope we will be able to present some options by the end of the year. Hopefully from this workshop and some investigating from the board and considering different avenues, we are hoping to have a few things that the members can vote on again. From there we can start moving forward,” Tse says.

Currently, a parking lot attendant booth has been put up in the lot in front of the centre. Tse says they have leased the lot to Vitalite Health Network for one year, in an effort to bring in income for St. Pat’s.

Anyone wanting to attend tonight’s workshop is asked to register. More information can be found HERE
