The proposal to re-zone Moncton’s ward boundaries has been dismissed by Moncton City Council at a Committee of the Whole meeting.
The Enhancing Democracy Committee had proposed three changes with one that would have reduced the population of ward 3.
Ward 3 councillor Bryan Butler says many residents were against the change.
“I would say there’s a good 50 people that I spoke to, in coffee shops and people I know in my area, and they didn’t want this change, they didn’t see and sense in it,” says Butler.
Butler says the topic also received as little as 60 interactions on the Let’s Chat Moncton online forum.
