UPDATE: Route 11 Reopened

Weather conditions kept some schools in the province closed today.

All schools in Anglophone North are closed today, along with Francophone South schools in Baie-Ste-Anne, Miramichi, Richibucto, Rogersville and Saint-Louis de Kent.

High winds and blowing snow, caused havoc on highways yesterday.

There were whiteout conditions on many roadways. Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle pileup on Highway 11.

Mounties say 15 vehicles were involved in a series of collisions at the Cocagne Bridge.

Route 11 between Shediac and Cocagne reopened at 9:18am Wednesday morning.
