Magnetic Hill Zoo’s Amur Leopard passes away

The Magnetic Hill Zoo team is mourning the loss of a member of their cat family.

Milan the Amur Leopard, passed away on September 20th.

He was a part of a species survival program raising awareness of endangered species.

A social media post states Milan began exhibiting unusual behaviour after the storm, and he was to be taken for exploratory surgery for further diagnosis.

He passed away en route to the Atlantic Veterinary College at UPEI.

A necropsy was to be done to determine the cause of death.

Milan was born in 2018 in the Granby Zoo in Quebec, but joined the Magnetic Hill Zoo family in December 2022.

Zoo Director Jill Marvin stated, “We are all grieving the loss of an incredible ambassador for his species which is critically endangered.”
