2015 Kindergarten Registration Underway

Registration is underway this week for next year’s kindergarten students in the Anglophone East School District.

Data shows 40 additional students enrolled in kindergarten classes across the district this fall.

Early childhood services director Clare Archibald says parents should drop by their child’s nearest school between 9am and 3pm, “What they need to bring with them for the registration is their child’s birth certificate, their medicare card, their immunization record and proof of residency, such as a phone bill of power bill, to show where they live.”

Archibald says parents of incoming students will meet with the principal and receive a welcome bag with activities planned for the child.

Later in the school year, she adds children will be able to take part in a kindergarten class and even ride the school bus.

Kindergarten registration is also underway for the Francophone South School District. It is done online first and then, the registration process ends with a quick visit to the school.

More info is given to parents when they come to the school to complete the registration process, and they will require the same documents as Anglophone East.
