18th Anniversary of the CIBC Run For The Cure Is Today, Over 1,000 Runners Expected

You are likely to see many runners out and about in Greater Moncton today, for the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Moncton run site Director Dale Aube says this is the 18th anniversary of the run in the Hub City.

She says all the money raised in Atlantic Canada, stays in Atlantic Canada.

“And it all goes towards research, which is the number one priority, secondly it goes to community health grants and breast health awareness programs,” says Aube.

Money also goes to advocacy programs for breast cancer survivors.

Aube says they have more than 40 teams registered, and they’re expecting more than a thousand participants.

She adds Moncton is phenomenal, and dedicated to fundraising for the fight against breast cancer – last year as of Run Day, Hub City raised over $168,000.

Registration is at noon at Centennial Park, opening ceremonies are at 1:15 and both the 1k and 5k run start at 2 o’clock.
