100,000 Contraband Cigarettes Seized During Traffic Stop

The New Brunswick RCMP seized a large quantity of contraband cigarettes Thursday.

More than 100,000 were taken during a traffic stop on the TCH near Oromocto, when officers pulled over a pickup truck hauling a utility trailer around three yesterday afternoon.

A 53-year old man from Maitland, Ontario was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court on October 15th, 2018 to face charges under the Excise Act, and Tobacco Tax Act.
