YWCA Launches Capital Campaign For New Building, Services And Programs

The YWCA Moncton is getting a new home for its programs and services thanks to funding from their first capital campaign.

Executive Director Jewel Mitchell says they are currently in the redesign phase, hoping to start renovations in the summer and be open by the New Year.

“When all the pieces of our new centre, which will be housing for young, pregnant and parenting women,” says Mitchell. “An early learning and childcare centre, and our health and wellness centre, our training and leadership centre as well as the new administrative offices.”

Mitchell says this new centre will help women and their children reach success through various different means.

The campaign has already raised more than 1 million dollars thanks to sizeable and generous donations from the McKenna family and JD Irving Limited.
