Donations are needed for the YMCA Reconnect Program.
They help all demographics, young and old, who are in need of some form of assistance.
Director of Outreach Programs and Services Gillian Johnson says this is often the time of year when their shelves are getting dangerously low, “We reach out at this time of year because as we go into the summer months, ask any helping agency, it is the lowest time for donations throughout the time of year . People are enjoying life and they’re out on vacation and they’re travelling, so it totally makes sense.”
They are in need of non perishable food items, including pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter, canned meat and fish and granola bars. They also need hygiene items including razors, soap and shampoo.
