The Wildcats are bidding farewell to a veteran defenseman, who is returning to Switzerland for season ending shoulder surgery.
Simon Le Coultre was injured in a pre-season tournament, and missed some ice time in the first half of the season dealing with it.
In 154 regular season games for the Cats, he’s tallied 60 points, and the team is thanking him for his time, while wishing him all the best for his recovery, and future career.
To replace him, the team has picked up 19-year old Aleksi Anttalainen from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in exchange for a third round pick in the 2019 QMJHL entry draft.
Anttalainen has 11 points in 31 games so far this season, and is expected to take the ice as a Wildcat for the first time this Friday.
