We remain under a special weather statement for Moncton and Southeast new Brunswick, but snowfall warnings have been issued for other areas including Sussex.
There are two systems that are expected to roll through our region over the next few days.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Doug Mercer says the Moncton region may not reach warning criteria, “Temperatures are going to be fairly warm and it is going to be wet. It is probably not going to give as much snow as it probably would. It’ll be wet, heavy snow and probably won’t give Moncton 15 centimetres.”
The snow is expected to start at around dawn on Thursday morning, “It will start off with some light snow and will pick up in the morning and will continue until Thursday evening. Then it will slowly diminish overnight into Friday morning, and maybe switchover to a mix of snow and freezing rain,” Mercer says.
Late on Friday, another system will bring rain and wet snow.
According to the snowfall warning for Sussex, that region could see up to 20 centimetres of snow.
