People living in flood-prone areas along the Saint John River should get their evacuation plans ready.
That is the message from New Brunswick EMO as river levels are expected to reach or surpass flood stage in several communities this weekend.
Environment Canada is calling for as much as 100 millimetres of rain in parts of northwestern New Brunswick this weekend.
Water levels in Fredericton are forecast to exceed flood stage on Saturday at 6.7 metres and keep rising until Monday before levelling off at 8.1 metres. Flood stage in the city is 6.5 metres.

Jemseg is expected to hit flood stage on Saturday, Maugerville and Sheffield on Sunday, and Grand Lake on Monday.
In the Saint John area, the river is expected to reach 4.4 metres on Tuesday, which is 20 centimetres above flood stage.
