Walmart stores move to coin carts

If you’re planning to shop at Walmart, make sure you have a loonie handy.

Many of its stores will now require the coin to get a cart.

Officials say the system will help increase shopping cart availability and encourage users to return them.

It also cuts down on theft and damage.

Once you’re finished using the cart, return it to the corral and your loonie is refunded.

A Walmart Spokesperson adds, “Many discount retailers in Canada offer a similar cart deposit system.”
