Are you a smoker who wants to quit and get fit at the same time?
A Walk to Quit program gets underway tonight for the second year.
Manager of the Moncton Running Room Kim Buck says they had great success last year, “At the of the ten week program, 90 per cent had reduced their smoking and after six months, over half of the participants reported they were no longer smoking.”
The program is based off of their Learn to run program, “They can start off very gradual and you can either walk or run. The whole idea is that the end of the 10 weeks, they should be able to do a 5 K,” Buck says.
