Volunteer Families Sought In Metro Moncton To Help Syrian Families

Volunteer families are being sought in Metro Moncton to help pair up with the new Syrian families who have moved to the community since December.

Moncton Fire Chief Eric Arsenault has taken the lead on finding so-called family connection volunteers and says failure is not an option when it comes to helping more than 300 Syrians integrate into our community.

“Our future depends on this, that is how important this is. The future of Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview, Southeast New Brunswick depends on a successful operation”, he notes.

A six month commitment is expected from family connection volunteers who could help a Syrian family in various ways including getting around the city, groceery shopping or even using household appliances.
